The topic of the diploma thesis is development education in teaching geography. The main objective of this thesis is to create author's own design of teaching activities focused on development education in teaching geography at the 2nd level of primary schools. The presented thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part based on it. The theoretical part is primarily focused on defining basic terminology, it introduces main starting points, principles, objectives, topics and methods of DE. Furthermore, the author deals with the importance and position of DE in selected European countries. She focuses in more detail on the field of education in the Czech Republic and the main curricular documents. The practical part of the work contains three teaching activities, including the principles and topics of DE, through which the students are acquainted with selected global problems of today's world. The individual activities are briefly introduced in the introductory part, followed by the methodological structure and possibly the implementation of the activity in practice.
Controversial Issues as a Part of Education in Primary Schools

This diploma thesis focuses on dealing with controversial issues in primary schools. The main aim of this work is to find out why it is appropriate to integrate these issues into teaching, whether it is even possible for primary school pupils to deal with them and how these topics can be taught and integrated. The theoretical part begins by defining the term controversial issue, then it is devoted to developmental presupposition of primary school children for dealing with controversial issues, then how these issues relate to Citizenship and Global Education, and which methods can be used for dealing with controversial issues. Global Responsibility Education at Primary School

In todays complicated world global Education brings a new approach towards a man. Theoretical part of thesis introduces its philosophical bases, characteristics, teaching principles, environmental aspect and main objectives. It emphasises close connnection to other education areas and areas in the Czech educational system where global Education should be practised. Theses describes teaching methods for global Education suitable for primary school children. Work describes connection between development of self-belief and global responsibility of a child. Empiric part uses methods of interview, observation and educational artefact analysis. Results approve importance of the artefact supporting self-belief in educational process.
Global thinking of university students in the Czechia

The diploma thesis is focused on the global thinking of university students. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out the level of global thinking of university students and the factors that influence this level. By finding answers to research questions, we get the answer to the goal of the work. The research questions are: What levels of global thinking university students achieve in each segment of global thinking? Are there differences in the thinking of university students in a global context by gender and age? Does the personal experience of a visit to a foreign country affect the level of global thinking and attitudes of the university student? Does the interest in what is happening abroad influence the level of global thinking of university students? How differ the level of global thinking of Czech high school pupils and university students? Position of Global Education in Primary School

This diploma thesis focuses on Global Development Education (GDE) and its position in education at primary school. The main aims of this work are to find out why it is important to integrate global development issues in education, what are primary school kids preconditions for working with global issues and how can teachers integrate global issues to education. The theoretical part of the thesis begins with definition of GDE, then it is devoted its specifics in primary school education, its place in curricular documents and how it is integrated into education. In empiric part, GDE is investigated by questionnaire survey and interviews if the topics of GDE are incorporated into education, how often and what is the reason for this integration.

Evaluation of results in global and development education

Diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of results in global development education. It describes bases and content of global development education and its expected results. It compares quantitative and qualitative methods of measuring results considering their ability to measure real contribution of the evaluated activity. It highlights the need to demonstrate the validity and reliability of a measurement. It explains the role of values, criteria and indicators in the evaluation. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the measurement of contribution specifically in the area of global development education. It provides an overview of measurements made in global development education according to their validity. It also offers a list of quality criteria used in global development education. The research part of the thesis presents the results of an investigation which aimed to determine how selected Czech organizations dealing with global development education evaluate the results of their activities. It tries to determine what facilitates the evaluation of results and what represents a barrier to it. It results from a qualitative analysis of interviews and written materials provided by the organizations.
Planning of teaching focused on cross curricula topics and verification of its impact on the development of key values and attitudes of primary school pupils

The target of the thesis In the theoretical part of the thesis is my aim to chart the teachers possibilities for incorporation of the sectional themes into the teaching at first level of basic school. Especially the theme regarding the education of the thinking in European and global context. I would like to focus on how the teacher can within the class develop the students values and their attitude, which are related to the sectional themes and concurrently, how can we detect and use the impacts of this type of teaching. I will focus on definition of the requirements for the teachers, who prefers approach to the teaching oriented on attitudes and values. In the empirical part of the thesis I am going to make a case study at the basic school, which will chart the actual work of the survey methods, regarding the students values and their attitudes and efficiency of the intervention presented as targeted work with these values and attitudes. This thesis focuses on the topic of Global development education using the pedagogical approach of Philosophy for children. The main objective is to develop its own proposal of educational materials. Which will deal with the possibilities of using this theme to the first grade of primary school. The theoretical part is divided into two parts, the first is characterized by Global development education and the second the Philosophy for children. In the practical part we are shown three draft their own learning activities, which are fully capable of being put into teaching practice of geography at 1st level of basic education, especially for 4th and 5th grade.
